Tour 1 “The Magic World of
Eastern Design”
On this tour you will visit places which will
allow you to familiarize extensively with the applied art of the master
craftsmen of Uzbekistan.
There is an opportunity to see embroidery, pottery, wooden and metal products
and other items made by hand from all regions of Uzbekistan. This excursion will enable
the participants to experience the magical world of Uzbekistan arts and crafts and the
soul of the Uzbek people.

At the State
Museum of Applied (Fine) Arts
you will view the many exhibits of handmade articles by craftsmen from
different provinces of Uzbekistan.
The different halls of the museum are thematically decorated.

“Kosmonavtlar” (Cosmonauts) Metro station is adorned with paintings of
famous cosmonauts in space. There are some fine examples of the works of
modern glass-masters such as the richly decorated columns.
Caution: It is not permitted to take photographs
inside any metro station

Walk area will take
you through four park zones - Uzbek, Russian, Japanese and French. During the
excursion participants will be acquainted with the Uzbek garden, the “Blue
cupolas” complex and the Chaikhana (tea-house) decorated in national style,
where you will be offered tea or coffee.

Madrasah of Abul Kasim Sheikh is a19th century
monument housing workshops and souvenirs shops with handicrafts from all
different regions of Uzbekistan.
